Interface will have a stand for Clubs' Day in the Quad on Wednesday 28th February 2007, shortly after the beginning of trimester 1, 2007. Clubs' Day officially runs from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. See http://vuwsa.org.nz/clubs/resources/handbook/DetailsofWhatsOn.html#Cultural for VUWSA information.
Todo
- Write and print brochures about Interface and free software.
I (AndrewWalbran) have created a new version of this (http://user.interface.org.nz/~andrew/files/FOSS_flyer_2007-r1.odt, http://user.interface.org.nz/~andrew/files/FOSS_flyer_2007-r1.pdf). Feel free to improve it, but *please* make sure to increment the revision number on the front cover and in the filename.
Revision 2: http://user.interface.org.nz/~andrew/files/FOSS_flyer_2007-r2.odt, http://user.interface.org.nz/~andrew/files/FOSS_flyer_2007-r2.pdf
This is based on the brochure from ClubsDayJuly2006, but I think there was a later version than the one linked there.
Print small handouts for the InstallFest200701.
ManjulaJayne is organising flyers with information about Interface on one side and the installfest on the other
Update the IOpenCD and make (and label) many copies.
- Implementation of the new menu format (IOpenCD2007) has progressed to the point where it will not be much effort to update the CD for new applications
Updated CD cover (1 page origami) can be found here: XCF [http://user.interface.org.nz/~gringer/interface/IopenCD-v4.xcf], PS [http://user.interface.org.nz/~gringer/interface/IopenCD-v4.ps], PNG [http://user.interface.org.nz/~gringer/interface/IopenCD-v4.png]
- 148 CDs have now been burnt, and the image has been checked to make sure all the install links result in an install process starting (exception is scite, which is a standalone editor)
- Write Ubuntu and Kubuntu 6.10 'Edgy Eft' CDs
- Get ISOs of Linux distributions etc. to burn on request
- Get Tape or something to put up the Interface sign
Needed on the day
- At least 2 computers (preferably more) for demonstrations.
- Perhaps one with GNOME and one with KDE
- Make sure to have plenty of nice games etc. installed, and maybe Beryl
- Several computers wit CD writers to write Linux distributions etc. on request
Projector / large screen and computer to run OpenGL demos
